Serlachius Museum

  • Program: Extension to existing building, competition entry, 2011
  • Location: Mänttä, Finland
  • Concept: Three large exhibition halls, with north-faced roof lanterns, were placed as islands within the park landscape. Their scale, as experienced from the exterior, is diverted by applying a 3m high and 3m wide pathway around them. From the pathway, the visitors can experience the park also in the harsh Finnish winter months.
