The digital is not all – we still need to assemble, to polish, to coat, and so forth, by hand. And above all, we need to understand and communicate.

We have a long experience using this technique and have made designs from wood, plastics and metal. However, the products are seldom finished only by CNC-milling, we almost always need to treat the surface in some way, using coating methods or polishing.

The quality of 3d-printing is debatable. The best materials are certainly metals which however is expensive to use. The plastic materials available don’t always meet the consumer’s demands. For us, 3d-printed objects have huge advantages as positive molds for casting or prototypes. The technology enables the creation of very complex geometry.

is to bend or transform an existing piece of material, often referred to as CNC-bending.
Neutral fabrication machines can bend metal sheets and rods/pipes. We have made a series of experiments with rods and pipe bending. There are a few machines that can bend based on complex, free-form NURBS-curves. The production is both fast and relatively inexpensive which opens up for great ideas to be realised.
