Elevator pitch – explain your idea fast and with simplicity
Fredrik Skåtar’s layout workshop, using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
Graphic design tells your story visually. Any project, not only in the design and architecture fields, profit from a clear and aesthetically appealing layouts and images. We use InDesign for the layout, Illustrator for line drawings and Photoshop for image editing. The latter with emphasis on how to use layers and masks, a method that makes Photoshop re-editable in a somewhat parametric way.
Our concept is goal-oriented, using one of the participant’s existing projects and work on explaining it with help from graphic design. The faster the viewer understands, the better – hence the concept name “Elevator pitch”
In order to learn a design software intuitively, we believe there has to be a specific goal that motivates and automatically creates a design process. Along the way there will be questions that need answers and then, knowledge and skill will come naturally.
Skåtar’s workshops are conducted with screen sharing via a beamer. Accompanied by a custom made homepage containing course material and videos where specific commands and geometrical terminology is explained – all shown in Rhino workspace, made by Fredrik Skåtar.
